I was honored to be asked to join a special group of Dallas bloggers who are fasting and praying for an end to abortion before the Blessed Sacrament on First Fridays. Tons of reasons not to do it came up in my head immediately but for each one I knew it was not a valid reason!
*I work on Fridays (ummm...at my church)
*I hate fasting (ummm...who likes it?)
*I'm not worthy and my sacrifice won't matter (ummm...that just doesn't even deserve a response!)
So tonight I am surfing and looked back at the joint statement from these fine folks and started looking up each blogger participating and read this...and it was ALL over for me. I'm in - big time! Thanks Laura H. for getting my behind in gear!

Yes, the reality of what it means sure can raise a lot of objections. You were more honest up front. I blithely signed on and then came face to face with the unpleasant truth that this would mean sacrifice. Dang it, got to walk the walk as well as talk the talk.

good to have another on board. let us pray for each other in this commitment, that we might do it whole-heartedly each month and never lose sight of the fact that this battle will only be won in Him, with Him, and through Him.
