Mama's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up...Too Early Anyway

A Michigan couple is crying unsportsmanlike conduct after their 6-year-old daughter was removed from a flag football cheerleading team because they complained that one of the team's chants was too risqué.
I'm heartbroken for this little girl and her parents. I applaud the parents for taking a stand. I feel so badly for them that it backfired on them in such an unexpected way. The little girl will not understand what is going on right now...and probably not for a long time. But one day when she is grown up and raising children of her own, she will admire her parents so much for what they did for her.

Read more here.

Here is the cheer that the 6 year olds are being asked to do:
"Our backs ache, our skirts are too tight, we shake our booties from left to right."
We are in such a hurry to grow our kids up these days. A friend of mine has a kindergartner who was invited to a slumber party!?! My friend feels that her daughter is too young for this - especially since it is a family that the parents don't know very well yet. That and the kids are 5 YEARS OLD! I admit I was a little bit behind in the maturity department growing up, but I know for sure I wasn't ready for a sleep over at 5. And I don't think most 5 year olds I know are either.

If you think about it, keep these parents and their little girl in your prayers. And, as hard as it might be, I'm going to lift up some prayers for the other parents from the team that sent this family packing.
