Parable Meme

Wow - I'm proud of myself. I usually don't turn these around so quickly but Julie D from Happy Catholic caught me at a good time! So here goes...

1. You name your five favorite parables
2. You tag one blogger per parable.

Prodigal Son - like everyone else! It's the first one that comes to mind when you say the word parable!

Pharisee and Publican - I'm sooooo the Pharisee. I struggle with self righteousness a lot!

Good Samaritan - another one that instantly comes to mind when thinking of parables.

Friend At Night - this one didn't instantly come to mind but it has such a great message of persistence in prayer. I love the verses that come out of this parable:
"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. "Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

Persistent Widow - again, great lesson on being persistent in prayer. I usually give up way too easily.

The Rich Man and the Beggar Lazarus - classic good vs evil. The bad guy gets it in the end. Oh yeah, also a great reminder to us (who are all the bad guy at one point or another) to always make ourselves ready for Heaven!

I tag (this is always the hardest part!)...

Melissa from A Third Way

Rachel from Chasing Butterflies

Abigail from Abigail's Alcove

Andrea from Andrea's Blog

Laura from ...and if not...

FYI...Wikipedia has a great listing of all the parables!

Stevie! Thank you so much for choosing me. I love all of your parable choices. Unfortunately, I've had to stop myself from committing to fill out any more "memes". I get so self-conscious and stressed out doing them, that it sort of inverts the entire purpose of my "happy mama computer time."

Oh no! We don't want that! LOL! I totally understand! They sometimes do that to me too!
