Snow and Darkness and Party Time!!

Welcome to the Manor Ultimate Blog Party people! Make yourself at home! Take a look around and get to know me and my family! I have 3 wonderful children ages 4, 2, and 12 weeks (as of today!!). My husband, who will certainly gain instant saint status upon reaching heaven for putting up with the likes of me, is a loan officer (let me know if you're buying a new house or need to get a home equity loan and I'll give you his number!) and loves to fly control line airplanes. I work part time as a preschool teacher and the rest of the time I'm home with my kiddos! I'm a cradle Catholic and LOVE my faith. It has only been recently that I came to this realization and I'm excited to share it. I'm always in search of great ways to share and explain the faith and it's riches to my children. I've found that there is not much good stuff on the net for very small children. If you have great ideas, please send them my way! I also like talking about my kids and lately have been sharing my struggles with weight loss after having 3 kids in 4 years!

So settle in. Go to the sidebars to find out more about the funny name of this blog. Introduce yourself via comments! And come back often!

Now for your viewing pleasure...Here are pictures of the blizzard that blew in yesterday and last night!

My front yard and car...

My backyard!

I know, I know...if you're from a place that gets actual snow then you're laughing your head off right now. But this is big time here in Big D! Big Bear wants to go out and build a snowman! I am trying to explain to her that there is not even enough to make a snowball. Poor dear. The sad thing is that several weeks ago I lost Big Bear's heavy coat and haven't found it. So she only has light jackets. Furthermore, I can't find any of our gloves. So...I don't think we'll be going out there anytime soon. I'm such a bad mom.

So instead, we're sitting in the darkness of my house. No, the electricity didn't go out during the big bad blizzard. For some reason, all of the light bulbs in my house have decided to go out at the SAME time. And we have NO light bulbs. Oh, and the milk is almost all gone and so is the juice. So, I'll either have to make the milk and juice stretch big time or pack the 3 kids up for my first trip to the grocery store with all 3 kids by myself. Hmmm....stretching it sounds good to me!

Well, that is it for now. I'd better get things done before Campo wakes up! I want to have time to go and visit some other party people later! Ta ta for now!

Okay - prizes I want if I'm lucky enough to win...PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE????

I laughed out loud when I read about your blizzard and then saw the pictures! What I am wondering is, did your whole town cease to operate because of the blizzard. I know when I lived in the south if it snowed more than 0.000001 of an inch they closed everything:)

Yeah, but we have had a pretty mild winter and you STILL got more snow than we did, here in Jersey.

Guess that's why 2 (out of 4) of my kids are home with the flu, I woke up with AND got my period, too.

Don't need more reason for a party, than that, yes?

Happy - it actually wasn't too bad this time! Only a few school districts closed but lots of places opened late. The news covered it like it was a blizzard though! Overkill as usual!

Liz - Sounds bad! Hope you guys can salvage some of the weekend!

BRRRR! We've had an especially mild winter in FL this year (not that it ever gets this bad anyway).
Hope you have a good time at the party!

I did laugh a little at your "blizzard," but I can understand why it would seem strange to someone not used to it. :) I'm struggling with weight loss after kids too. I want to lose it before we try for a third. I've started a new weight loss blog that I mention in my party post. :) If you want to visit my party the easiest way to find me is to click #9 on the 5MM linky. :)

We don't get ANY snow, so I'm jealous of yours actually. :)

Hey Stevie-
We have a lot in common, we are both Catholic, and we both live in the DFW area! Wow! Good to "meet" you! Looks like you had even more snow than we did! ; )

Come by and visit me if you get a chance!

I'll betcha we're neighbors! I had the same blizzard come my way =0) Keep partying!

We're just a bit north of DFW and we got the same blizzard! There's actually still a few drifts in the shade...

WE got snow here in MIssissippi last night for the first time in probably 10 years. IT was more than shown in your picture but not anything compared to some folks.

I'll try to send you some of the snow that's stuck over Chicago right now!

I'm with-ya, baby! Blizzard is anything with white! ;) I'm a native Texan and me and cold only go so far. Winter is my favorite season, strangely - but that is because I can have my little "blizzard" and then be done with it in just a few days.

Have you ever read that HILARIOUS story about the southerner who went North and had to live where it snowed? :) By the end of the seventh day of shoveling snow he had taken up cursing. :) LOL

I love snow - the kind you go visit! ;)

Happy partying!

Had to read your wheelbarrow story! LOL. Very amusing

Oooooooo... snow....

Haven't seen it since '02, when all of South Texas was covered in it... and I pray every year for it!

Hello, fellow Texan!

Come visit; I have sweet tea!

Nice "blizzard." LOL

I remember my first snow here in WA. I had just moved here with my parents, I was 14, and we had three inches overnight. We could never figure out why school was closed.

Have fun in the party!

Wonderful blizzard! We lived in Dallas a decade ago, but only for two years. I'm pretty sure it never got below 80 degrees the whole time we were there. :-) I loved it, though. Still miss it a bit. Happy partying.

Hello Stevie! We get real snow here...it hasn't been too bad this year, but I totally know the days when you have a few flurries and the kids are ready to build a snowman! I also know losing all the gloves/mittens. I have finally submitted to the fact that we will not match when we go outside to play in the snow! LOL Hope you were able to get out and get some light bulbs, milk & juice! There's nothing worse than being 'snowed in' without supplies! LOL Have fun & enjoy the party! ;)

K well I'm not laughing but I'd trade climates anyday! Kids here have had 19 days off shool since Dec. 1st!!!!
Enjoy the party!

Great party happening here!

Love your "blizzard"! Down here in the Greater Austin area we have had zero blizzards or ice of any kind. Not like last year where the IKEA near us shut down for about three whole days when we had an ice storm. Funny how things are here.

Now that is my kind of snow storm! I will take that any day! In Colorado we can get a foot and more and nothing shuts down. I only remember one snow day as a kid. sad. Thanks for having the party. Congrats on your new addition!! stop by and say hi!
